An elderly Pakistani passenger died on board a Saudi Airlines flight bound for Karachi after leaving Jeddah on Monday.

Flight 704 made an emergency landing at King Khaled International Airport in Riyadh when the man appeared be in a serious condition. However, he had already died when the plane landed, according to a report in an online publication.

A source said the passenger was showing signs of distress before he boarded in Jeddah.

When the plane was close to Riyadh, the captain requested permission to land so that the passenger could receive emergency medical assistance.

The man was traveling with 10 relatives, who all disembarked in Riyadh to organize funeral arrangements. The plane resumed its journey to Karachi, the source said.
