On the auspicious occasion of 74th National Day of Pakistan, I wish to extend my heartfelt felicitations to Pakistan community in Saudi Arabia.

We commemorate 23rd March 1940 when the Muslims of South Asia passed a historic resolution in Lahore to carve out a separate homeland for themselves where they could lead their lives according to their beliefs and aspirations.

Today we look back at the decades since creation of Pakistan with a deep sense of gratitude at the achievements our country has made.

Today, we are blessed with a democratic government, independent judiciary, free media, and vibrant civil society.

Our educational system has produced a large pool of trained and experienced engineers, doctors, bankers, lawyers and other professionals.

These professionals, many with substantial international experience, are an asset not only for Pakistan but for the entire world since we export human resources all over the world, particularly to our brotherly countries in the Gulf.

Pakistan enjoys a special relationship with Saudi Arabia, based on the solid foundations of Islamic identity, common historical experiences, and shared perceptions on all national and international issues.

Saudi Arabia is looked at with deep love by the people of Pakistan. Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah, Crown Prince Salman and the entire royal family are held in high esteem in Pakistan.

The exemplary relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have registered tremendous growth in recent years. This is reflected in the fact that the Crown Prince Salman chose Pakistan as the first destination for his first tour abroad in his capacity as the Crown Prince.

The visit will be remembered as a milestone in bilateral relations.

The government and the people of Pakistan also take great pride in the enormous contributions made by the Pakistan community in the Kingdom toward the progress and prosperity of both countries. Through its dedication, professionalism and hard work, the Pakistani expatriate community has cemented the bonds between the people of the two brotherly countries.

The government of Pakistan commends the compassionate policies of the government toward the Pakistani community in the Kingdom.

I join my Pakistani brethren in praying that the relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia continues to grow in the coming years.
