MADINAH: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has suspended one of its employees at its Madinah branch due to his violation of rules.
Arab News was told that the PIA employee, who worked at the airlines’ counter at Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah, canceled reservations of 24 passengers on PK flight 744, which was heading from Madinah toward Karachi and replaced them with another 24 passengers. The original 24 passengers remained at the Madinah airport, waiting for a solution to the cancellation of their reservations.
The director general of Pakistan International Airlines investigated the matter and found that the employee committed the violation.
The manager of PIA’s branch in Madinah was also questioned, but said that he did not know that the employee had canceled the reservations of 24 passengers on his own, without his knowledge.
Therefore, the director general of PIA in Karachi decided to suspend the employee for several days and deduct his salary for this violation.
PIA provided reservations for the passengers on the next available flight.
