More than 200 grade 11 and 12 home economics and fine arts students at the Pakistan International School Jeddah-Azizia showcased their creativity with embroidery, flower arrangements, cushion making, live drawing, fashion designing, advertisement designs and drawings at an exhibition on Thursday.

Chief guest Afshan Khokhar, wife of the Pakistan consul general, and other guests, were welcomed with flower bouquets prepared by students.

“Today's exhibition is an excellent showcase of their talent and skills. I am impressed with the engineering, science, basic household skills and decorations," said Khokhar.

Farhat Naeem, the vice principal, said the school had great confidence that the students would do well in future. “We get inspiration from our children. They are ahead of us in everything and we are proud of them. I want to make this the best school in the world. I will put all my effort into doing this,” she said.

Home economics teachers Nuzhat Rafi and Abda Nushad told Arab News that most of the students are doing computer studies but still believe their subject is important.

They said the girls would one day play an important role in their homes because they would raise their families with solid values.
