Police arrested two shoplifters as they were stealing hardware goods in Majmah, 190 km away from Riyadh.

According to the police, the two shoplifters included a Pakistani in his thirties and Saudi man in his forties living in the Majmah district.

A police official said that the two thieves were wearing special uniforms to put their stolen things in their pockets. “They had several pockets in the uniform and they were large enough to pocket even large tools,” he said, adding that they were wearing attire with long sleeves to hide their stolen goods.

The police said that the suspects had been carrying out their thefts in industrial areas in Majmah, where there was a concentration of trade outlets for hardware goods.

Both suspects confessed to their offenses and admitted that they were in the habit of routinely shoplifting. The Saudi man had also stolen electric cables and sold them in the open market.

The suspects will appear in court upon completion of investigations.
