Speakers at an election convention organized by the Pravasi Cultural Forum (PCF) here recently emphasized the need for a new alliance of political parties to set up a corruption-free government in New Delhi.

Hamid Vaniambalam, state president of Welfare Party, opened the event through the Internet and said the Congress and BJP have cheated the public by leaving them at the mercy of corporate giants.

He said a large number of people who have lost their confidence in rightist and leftist parties have joined Welfare Party in recent months. “We welcome all Indians to our party, irrespective of their religion and language.”

He also urged the non-resident Indians in Saudi Arabia and other countries to support the Welfare Party to bring about change in the country.

Ismail Kallayi, adhoc committee convener of Pravasi, said the Indian Parliament was functioning spending huge amounts of money every day. “Welfare Party wants to put an end to this wastage of public money,” he said.

Professor Raynolds, chairman of Pravasi, emphasized the need to promote an alternative system of government in the country to prevent exploitation of the public by corporates. “People are fed up with the present system and are looking for change,” he told a huge gathering in Sharafiya.

Shyam Govind, vice chairman, Mehaboob, executive member, Fasal Mohammed, Aju Saviar, Shanawaz, Omar Abubacker, CH Basheer, CNK Nasser, Shakir Hussein, KM Abdurahim, and Sajid Parakkal also spoke.
