Second Deputy Premier Prince Muqrin will launch the King Abdullah Program for the Care of Poor Kidney Patients on Wednesday. The program involves supply of 1,000 dialysis machines in major cities across the Kingdom, including 475 machines at the centers in Riyadh and Jeddah.

“In the first phase, dialysis centers will be established in Riyadh and Jeddah,” said a statement issued by King Abdullah International Foundation for Humanitarian Work, which will implement the project.

In the second phase, dialysis centers will be launched in Makkah, Madinah, Hail, Qassim and Rafha, where a total of 230 machines would be installed in the service of poor kidney patients.

The third phase will witness opening of dialysis centers in other cities providing 295 machines. “These centers aim to provide dialysis services to 5,000 patients over the next seven years,” the statement said.
