The Ministry of Housing has no intention of releasing a black-list of tenants or house-owners, rather it is keen on serving the interest of both the parties through the national network system, locally known as Shamous, according to a ministry official.

Mohammed bin Saleh, supervisor of Planning and Studies at the Ministry of Housing, said the national networking system was officially introduced last month.

He announced this at a meeting held at the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) on Sunday with businessmen, house-owners, landlords and real estate agents.

Saleh requested all the landlords, real estate agents and offices to join the system within a month which will help significantly in enhancing national security.

Mohiuddin Ben Yahia, JCCI Assistant Secretary-General, and Saleh Al-Hezab from Al-Alam Company for Information and Security also participated in the meeting.

Saleh explained that the ministry would start rental and marketing of residential units through the networking system, and that it was aimed at protecting both landlord and tenants interests besides national security.

He assured the best services for owner and tenants by posting all information on the ministry’s website which will serve everyone round the clock.

He said that owners and tenants can get all the information from the website, including status of complaints and communicate with everyone. This program will establish a relationship and protect the rights of both landlord and tenant or real estate broker.

He said the system will also help find suitable property and the outline of options available, enhancing the display of the property to establish relationship clearly and transparently.

Eng. Mohiuddin Bin Yahia said the meeting was held following the efforts made by the house or business owners in collaboration with the Ministry of Housing to introduce the new program.
