JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia and South Korea yesterday signed an agreement for defense cooperation. Crown Prince Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, and South Korean Defense Minister Kim Kwan-jin signed the landmark pact following talks in Riyadh.
According to SPA, Prince Salman and Kim discussed ways of strengthening bilateral ties, especially in the military sector, and reviewed major regional and international developments. Kim handed a message to the crown prince from President Park Geun-hye.
Kim said the pact is expected to boost cooperation in defense as well as in a variety of other fields between the two countries.
The two sides agreed to appoint a military attaché at the Saudi Embassy in Seoul, who will also handle military affairs in Japan, Kim was quoted as saying by the official Korean news agency Yonhap.
