The Royal Commission of Yanbu and Jubail (RCYJ) has initiated a series of awareness programs in Yanbu in line with Gulf Traffic Week.

The RCYJ remembered road traffic accident victims and patients who have suffered health problems in the aftermath of their accidents.

Members from the royal commission visited patients at the commission’s hospital in Yanbu and gave them flowers, said Atif Al-Ghadi, a senior official at the RCYJ, on Thursday.

Al-Ghadi was accompanied by Col. Faleh Al-Anzi, director of the Yanbu traffic police, and other officials from the commission.

He said that the RCYJ conducted a rally in Yanbu to emphasize the importance of adhering to road traffic rules. “We have distributed booklets and other literature pertaining to traffic rules for motorists, as well as to students in the city,” he said.

He said that the RYCJ also conducted a safety exhibition at the Jawahra Mall, where it displayed mechanisms and products for enhancing road safety.

“The RCYJ's safety division has established an exclusive exhibition to highlight horrendous scenes in the aftermath of road accidents,” said Al-Ghadi. "Our main focus is the young generation. We want them to participate in large numbers to ensure maximum awareness about the importance of road safety."

“We designed exclusive programs at the commission's college and other institutes, which were launched by Ahmed Dabrum, director-general, and Adel Al-Babtain, vice dean of students affairs,” he said.
