A gang of five thieves uprooted and stole an entire ATM machine containing SR1.3 million.

But their "card-free" days were short-lived. Police tracked them down and they were arrested. Police did not disclose the nationalities of the thieves. The gang, police said, successfully removed the machine from its place and transported it to a valley where they broke it open. The loot was equally shared among the members and the ATM machine was left behind.

Following their arrest, the gang members confessed to the crime and demonstrated to the police how the machine was removed and taken in a vehicle to a suburb in the capital.

In another incident, the police apprehended a Filipino on charges of murdering his colleague in Mather district. The deceased was a male nurse, aged 53 years and working in a government hospital.

The police started the search for the victim after government authorities notified about the absence of the victim from his work place.

It is suspected that the motive behind the murder was robbery and the killer had taken the belonging of the deceased committing the murder.

The police found the deceased in a pool of blood in his apartment with several stab wounds on his neck.
