A Saudi-Greek Joint Business Council may be established in May, according to a senior official from the Council of Saudi Chambers (CSC).

The proposed plan was revealed during a meeting between CSC Chairman Abdullah Al-Mobty and Greek Ambassador Dimitrios Letsios last week.

The discussion took place at the headquarters of the CSC in Riyadh. During the talks, it was revealed that a trade delegation from Greece would visit Riyadh in May and the two parties would then consider setting up a joint business council to promote trade and investments between the two countries.

Al-Mobty said the CSC was playing an important role in supporting economic relations between the two countries. He said the private sector would support the formation of a business council. He said there are a number of partnership opportunities available due to the size of the Saudi market. He said the expertise of Greek companies would help local companies in the Kingdom.

Letsios said many Greek companies are interested in entering the Saudi market with their expertise, products and services. He invited the Saudi side to explore investment opportunities in Greece in agriculture, tourism and other fields.

Letsios said extensive arrangements are being made by Greek companies to participate in the forthcoming trade visit to the Kingdom.

The two sides discussed areas of partnership and investment opportunities in construction, agriculture and health care.
