A self-extinguishing chamber, which extinguishes gas and petroleum fires, was recently invented by Ashwan bin Mardi Al-Dosari, project director at the Industrial Inventive Factory. The Badir Program for Technology Incubation at the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) adopted this company.

Al-Dosari acquired an industrial prototype from KACST and a patent from the Patent Office of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf for his invention.

The self-extinguishing chamber extinguishes fire by simultaneously destroying oxygen, heat and fuel. The chamber breaks up the chain of chemical reaction and puts out fire in record time. This saves time, effort and money and provides firemen with enhanced safety.

The self-extinguishing chamber is characterized by its ability to extinguish fires in oil and gas wells within a few seconds.
