AL-AHSA: A female Saudi student, who is not yet 18, was selected as the “best representative of the country” in the United Nation’s Youth Council from among 1,000 youths from 85 countries. She was honored after she presented papers on “creating work spirit with an idea” and “we are leaders of today and not only for tomorrow.”
Razan Al-Aqeel talked on the UN platform about the world which the youth visualize for 2030, based on the Saudi plan removing all obstacles.
She told a website that during her participation in the sessions, she focused on the role of youth in the United Nations in the leadership and service of society. These sessions were on peace and security, strengthening of the economy, creation of awareness about global warming and providing quality education to all.
Al-Aqeel said that the award given by the committee of the council was an opportunity provided once a year after a process of assessment.
The process included answering a questionnaire, personal interview and monitoring of her participation in the sessions of the council and the subjects she presented about the world and the Kingdom.
The Saudi student believes in a partnership between the United Nations, government, private and voluntary organizations of the Kingdom. The United Nations is trying to implement objectives of ending poverty, hunger, education for all, equality between men and women and controlling global warming.
