A Saudi scholarship student in the United States saved a family of three from a fire that broke out in one of the residential buildings in Houston, Texas.

Abdullah Al-Thufairi, a member of the Saudi club in Houston, said he noticed thick smoke emanating from the building opposite his. When he took a closer look, he saw flames coming out of the apartment.

He called the fire department and hurried to the apartment on fire. He banged on the door but it appeared that the family was asleep and woke up only after they heard the loud banging.

The residents hurried out of the apartment as a fire brigade truck reached the area.

The family expressed its appreciation for the Saudi scholarship student.

Mohammad Al-Khudair, president of the Saudi club in Houston, said: “This is not the first time that Saudi students have come to the rescue of families. Al-Thufairi had done an honorable job.”
