Makkah Gov. Prince Mishaal bin Abdullah has ordered the arrest of a Saudi living in Qunfudah for allegedly impersonating as a security officer in order to swindle the UAE ambassador in Riyadh out of money, Al-Arabiya.net reported. The governor has instructed the authorities to take legal action against the man.

According to the report, the Saudi impersonator had sent a text message to the UAE ambassador, introducing himself as a security officer with the rank of a colonel, seeking financial assistance. “There were confirmed reports that he had contacted princes and royal family members in the Gulf, saying he was a former security officer at the Grand Mosque in Makkah,” the report said.
