RIYADH: The Saudi National Campaign (SNC) is continuing to offer humanitarian assistance to Syrians affected by the conflict, with 120 Syrian students recently graduating under its educational programs in Al-Zaatari refugee camp in northern Jordan.

“These Syrian students graduated under the SNC’s program, which was carried out with the support of the Saudi Center for Education and Training (SCET) in Al-Zaatari camp,” said a senior SNC official on Thursday.

The Center offers intensive programs in computer technology, science, Arabic, mathematics and health education as well as sewing, garment manufacturing, textile education, arts, handicrafts and business courses.

The official noted that the occasion was marked by a celebration during which the SCET handed over prizes to the graduating students along with certificates of completion of educational and vocational training courses.

The programs were aimed at developing the practical skills of the students to help them to earn a livelihood, said the official.

Commenting on these programs, Badr bin Abdulrahman Al-Samhan, SNC regional director, said that the program is a continuation of the Kingdom’s humanitarian mission to provide decent livelihoods for the Syrian people, under the directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman.

Earlier, the SNC and the SCET successfully implemented various skill-based training and rehabilitation programs for 1,350 male and female students living in Al-Zaatari refugee camp, giving them the skills to seek employment.The training program, entitled “your future is in your hands”, included an intensive lecture program supplemented by practical classes for two months.

Moreover, the Center also provides basic training on the use of computers as well as training in the Arabic language at various levels. Additionally, the SNC continues in the fight against illiteracy in the camp through a range of classes for children, and also provides health lessons in order to combat the spread of infections and diseases.
