Two government authorities have uncovered 30 private schools which claim to have hired teachers on monthly salaries of SR2,000 while receiving aid of SR2,500 from the HRDF (Human Resource Development Fund).

A source told local media that investigations are under way to determine the issue and refer it to the authorities. He said that more than 150 teachers’ names were registered with the schools but they were not known to the authorities investigating the case. “Efforts are being exerted to curb the phenomenon of fictitious employment in private schools,” he said.

Last year, several cases of fictitious employment were registered and dealt with seriously. “The guilty schools may face closure if they continue with fictitious employment,” he added.
