The Saudi Coast Guard intensified its search on Thursday for an Indian sailor who went missing from his ship that anchored at the Jeddah Islamic Port on Wednesday.

The missing man was on a cargo ship with 25 Indian sailors. The ship has been in the port for 20 days waiting to offload its cargo, Col. Saleh Mohammed Al-Shahri of the Coast Guard told Arab News.

He said the Coast Guard personnel were searching for the body using 30 divers, a helicopter and navy boats. “On Thursday, we used state-of-the-art technology, including high density water cameras, during the search operation.”

Al-Shahri said the Coast Guard would continue its search until the man was found.
