Dr. Sulaiman Habib Medical Group (SHMG) plans to organize a series of specialized courses on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care practitioners and employees at companies, banks, and educational institutions including universities, colleges and schools.
The courses, to be instructed in both Arabic and English, are also open to individuals and aimed to provide the required skills on how to deal quickly in emergency and critical cases, Deputy CEO of SHMG for Physician Affairs Abdullah Al-Harbash said. The courses are approved by Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) and upon attendance the trainees will get certificates issued by the Saudi Heart Association (SHA), he said.
This particular course is aimed to educate and train health practitioners and other attendees on the proper methods for CPR operations in case of cardiac arrest for young, adults or newborns. The course will also discuss how to use electric shock apparatus in these cases in addition to proper handling with cases of accidents, injuries, fractures, heart attacks and strokes, and bleeding, he said.
