The Shoura Council has expressed its desire to strengthen relations with the Philippine Congress, according to Ambassador Ezzedin H. Tago.

In a meeting last Monday, speaker of the Consultative Council Abdullah Al-Asheikh said that he looked forward to the exchange of visits between Saudi Arabia and the Philippines.

Al-Asheikh made the statement when the Filipino envoy called on him to discuss various ways to improve bilateral relations between the two countries.

During the meeting, the Philippine ambassador thanked the Kingdom for its support to the peace process in southern Philippines.

He also expressed gratitude to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah for donating $10 million to the victims of supertyphoon Haiyan (also named Yolanda). Minister and Consul General Marshall Louis Alferez and Attache Mohamad Taha were also present at the meeting.
