The Ministry of Social Affairs has deposited SR1.21 billion in the accounts of the beneficiaries of the social security program for the current month, the Saudi Press Agency said, quoting a spokesman for the ministry.

Ministry spokesman Khalid Al-Thibaiti said the amount was deposited in the accounts of some 846,831 beneficiaries of social security pensions.

The social security agency (SSA) analyzes the data of beneficiaries on a monthly basis through electronic means to verify their eligibility to the program.

Accordingly, some 3,372 cases were excluded from the program due to the death of the beneficiary, marriage, increase of income, or absence of proof of divorce (for women), he said.

He said some 18,445 new cases were added to the list of social security beneficiaries during this month.

The beneficiaries eligible for the social security program include widows, orphans, abandoned family members and people with temporary or permanent debilitating health conditions and disabilities.
