A prominent Saudi rally champion has promised a SR100,000 cash reward for anyone who finds Saleh Mohsen Al-Hilali, the boy who went missing seven months ago after he left his Dammam home to perform prayers.

Saleh had left his home in the Abdullah Fouad neighborhood in Dammam to perform Maghreb prayers at a local mosque on a Friday during the Eid Al-Fitr holiday last year. Police in southern Dammam had received the report when he went missing. They have since been searching extensively for him.

Ahmed Balhamar, head of a volunteer team looking for Saleh, hopes the significant cash prize will be an incentive to find the boy with the cooperation of security forces.

“My team and I are looking everywhere for the boy. We have distributed posters and leaflets across the Kingdom, in addition to sending text messages via modern communication devices.

We have been unsuccessful in our search so far,” said Balhamar.

He said social solidarity with the family is an Islamic value in its essence and promotes a kind of emotional sense of sharing with the family’s suffering and distress.
