Muhammad Abu Zaid, public relations director at the Saudi Railways Organization, said that the railway expansion project has created jobs for Saudi women at different levels of the organization.

"The organization seeks to take advantage of the capabilities of women, stemming from our conviction as to the importance of the participation of women in all fields of work that suit their nature", Abu Zaid was quoted as saying to a local newspaper, adding that women work in different departments of the organization such as passenger service, ticketing and reservation, health, medical registry and reception.

He said promotions are given on merit and the organization upholds the principle of equality of opportunity for all employees.
