The Interior Ministry announced Sunday the arrest of a number of terrorists who opened fire recently on a car of the German Embassy in Al-Awamiya in the Eastern Province.

At a press conference in Riyadh. Maj. Gen. Mansour Al-Turki said: “According to a statement released by Eastern Province police, there was a terrorist assault on the car of a German diplomat in the town of Al-Awamiya, where the car was burned but the diplomat survived.” He said the security forces had succeeded in arresting Ahmed bin Hussein bin Ali Al-Aradi following evidence of his involvement in the crime.

During interrogation, Al-Aradi’s admitted his involvement in the case and identified a number of people who participated in the terrorist attack and other crimes such as shootings and armed robbery.

“The investigations also led to the arrest of Hedi bin Youssef Radi Al-Hazeem for his involvement in the terrorist attack in Al-Awamiya,” he added.

Al-Turki called for the surrender of Fadel bin Hassan Abdullah Safwani, Salman bin Ali Salman Al-Faraj, Mohammed bin Ali Abdul Rahim Al-Faraj, Aqeel bin Nabil Mohammed Al-Johar, Salem bin Abdullah Hussein and all wanted persons on the list of 23 announced two years ago.
