Riyadh police have arrested three Saudis for stealing a generator from a steel factory in the capital, an official said Tuesday.

The police had received a tip-off from a member of the public who spotted the men entering the factory after the workers had left.

The police then informed its officers at checkpoints in the area to watch out for suspicious-looking people in a vehicle.

According to the official, police officers spotted a car without a number plate moving at high speed. The police gave chase and ordered the driver to stop, but he refused to do so. The car was carrying two other people.

The police finally succeeded in stopping the car and arresting the men. They had the stolen generator and a steel cutter in the car.

In addition, the men had knives, daggers and iron bars in the car. They also had toy pistols in their possession to intimidate people.
