Al-Jouf University’s 15,000 students and 119 staff can now look forward to improved traffic flow, not only inside the campus, but also in the region, which has 361,738 inhabitants.

“Al-Jouf University has signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the local traffic department in the region to achieve common interests,” Ismail bin Mohammed Al-Bishry, university president, said in a statement.

The university, which has 81 full-time professors, consists of 10 colleges and several campuses.

A joint committee from the university and the Traffic Department will be formed to follow up on the implementation of the agreement, which has detailed mutual obligation, which includes conducting research to study obstacles for safety traffic safety in the region.

The accord also includes providing scientific advice and infrastructure to conduct research and organizing traffic safety-related courses for the university students.

The agreement was signed between Al-Bishri and Col. Mohammed bin Nayaf Al-Otaibi, director of the region’s traffic department, in the presence of the university’s vice-president for Graduate Studies and Research, Najm Al-Hussaini.

Al-Jouf participated in the GCC Traffic Week Exhibitions, focusing their campaigns and exhibitions on visiting school students. Other participants included Al-Houtah and Al-Kharj.
