JEDDAH: A Saudi national and a Yemeni have been arrested for abducting and beating a female middle school student in Jeddah recently. The authorities are investigating what prompted the two men to attack the young girl.

When the girl was on her way to school, one of the suspects blocked her way, pulled her into his vehicle and then drove toward the flat of his friend on Palestine street, before taking her to his own flat in Al-Kandarah, where she was beaten up.

Mohammad Ahmad Khamees Al-Zahrani, an eyewitness, said he saw the student in the area surrounded by a large number of Yemeni youths. “The girl was later able to point out the residence of the Yemeni expatriate, who participated in the attack, to security personnel.”

The house was later raided by police and the attacker apprehended. The man led them to his friend who participated in the attack.
