Police in Riyadh arrested a six-member Sudanese gang accused of lifting cars and other vehicles.

The gang members were found involved in a series of vehicle thefts before sending them outside the Kingdom, local media reported quoting information released by the Investigation and Criminal Research Division at the Riyadh Police Department.

Several police stations in the eastern parts of the city had earlier received reports of vehicle theft from citizens and residents.

Their modus operandi included changing the chassis number of the vehicles before exporting them.

Investigators began following the suspects and their locations were put under surveillance. The suspects eventually confessed to their crimes, media reports said, and will be referred to investigative bodies for further investigation.
