A special criminal court in Riyadh on Tuesday sentenced 14 men accused of terrorism to three to five years in prison.

They were among 47 terror suspects accused of involving in anti-government activities, included issuing of religious edicts against Saudi rulers, showing disobedience toward them by traveling to regions of tension and forging documents to get passports, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said.

They were also accused of collecting donations to support terrorist organizations after telling donors that their money would be used to support the poor and needy.

Evidence submitted to the court by investigators and prosecutors showed that the suspects possessed some CDs that encouraged people to kill others and conduct suicide bombings.

SPA's report further said that the suspects allegedly gave shelter to some of the wanted terror suspects.

The court session was attended by the suspects’ family members and the public prosecutor.

The first defendant was sentenced to six years and SR1,000 fine while the second was served four years. All the fourteen have been banned from traveling outside the Kingdom.
