The Yanbu Chamber of Commerce (CCY) will be organizing the “Saudi Forum for Rehabilitation and Employment” between March 4 and 6. The forum comes as part of efforts made by the Ministry of Labor to create job employment for Saudi youth.

Abdul Mohsen Al-Hassan, deputy chairman of Board Affairs, Public Relations and Marketing at Al-Multaqa, said that the forum will be held under the aegis of Madinah Governor Prince Faisal bin Salman.

“An estimated 9,000 jobs may be generated through an exhibition held over the weekend by Prolinks, for instance, which garnered the participation of 45 local companies,” said Al-Hassan.

The upcoming forum will bring together stakeholders and Saudi officials to showcase job opportunities, while participants will discuss the obstacles faced by the Ministry of Labor nationalization drive.

This forum will also call for the cooperation of the private sectors in integrating citizens in these firms.

Al-Hassan said that the ministry has launched a replacement program to make up for the legalization and nationalization drives, designed to localize jobs instead of relying on foreign manpower.

He said the Saudi Embassy in the United States of America has initiated a program to support Saudi students by helping them sign agreements with several major American companies to undergo two-year training contracts as they complete their degrees.

“Saudi students are encouraged to thoroughly plan their career path by gaining experience and skills to meet challenging role prerequisites,” Al-Hassan said. “This step addresses the Saudi experience deficiency alluded to in statistics. Helping Saudi students gain experience will make them more competitive graduates in the private sector.”
