The King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for the Gifted and Creativity or “Mawhiba” has called on Saudi inventors including women to register at www.ibtikar.com.sa to participate in an inventors’ exhibition on Dec. 1-5. The registration will be closed on March 30.
The Saudi Aramco is a co-organizer of the event to be organized under the aegis of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah at the Riyadh International Hall for Conferences and Exhibitions.
The exhibition will carry the logo "With inventions we build a knowledge society.”
The registration will entitle inventors to display their works to visitors including investors and businessmen. The expo attracted 60,000 visitors last time, the Saudi Press Agency reported yesterday.
Topics for exhibition include water, petroleum and gas, petrochemicals, information technology and telecommunications, renewable energy and medical field besides many other fields.
The exhibition, which is regarded as a continuation of the Invention 2010 exhibition, will attract inventors, and provide an occasion to sharpen their skills. It will provide pavilions for individual inventors, universities and research facilities to showcase their items. There will also be pavilions for government departments, local and international establishments and companies that support inventions, apart from investment companies, banks, sponsoring private companies.
The expo will also be accompanied by workshops and lectures on developing inventive skills. Young Saudi inventors will also get an opportunity to benefit from the experience and techniques of foreign inventors.
The first exhibition of inventors held in Jeddah in 2008 enabled gifted Saudi youths to market their inventions in a professional manner besides serving as a stage that brought inventors together with investors and companies.
The event saves a lot of time and money for an inventor by providing a rare opportunity to display, present and market his inventions at the same time.
The event also focuses on the national potential for inventions, awareness of society on the efforts to promote inventiveness and the role of related establishments.
It also spreads a culture of inventiveness and creativity in the society.
It highlights the role of inventiveness in achieving a sustainable development besides encouraging the private sector’s participation in the promotion of inventions and also for the creation and development of an atmosphere of inventiveness and creativity that would speed up the society’s conversion to knowledge economy.
