Shooting spree in US school

While the whole world mourns the wanton and extremely tragic loss of both young and adult innocent lives in Friday’s shooting spree at Sandy Hook Elementary School in the town of Newtown in the US state of Connecticut, there are stark lessons and realities to be addressed.
1 Bring in stricter controls on who can bear arms.
2. The gun and culture of violence in both movies and electronic games have to drastically change. It is fast catching up with other countries and everyone will get desensitized of killing!
3. The UN Security Council must work in close co-operation so as not to fan any proxy war, where the nations are witnessing ethnic and sectarian divides. The fight has got more vicious when both sides seek military solutions aided by their so-called friends.
4. The West should stop using the subtle language or resorting to violence by repeating the famous phrase, “all options are on the table” and the threat to bomb the countries to middle ages.
5. The family values have to be strengthened. Family fabric has slowly weakened due to society getting more perverse and unreligious, where everything is legislated as legal and acceptable. Recently in the US general elections, many states approved legalizing same-sex marriage, even though all scriptures have ordained marriage as moral union of a man and a woman wife and the sacred vows that further bless such unions. — Seif A.
