After eight weeks, Alliance in Motion Global got in the game that was good enough for a breakthrough Team of the Week award in the FTBJ-ICBL 33rd Conference bowling tournament at Jeddah Lanes here.

Alliance finished with the top tally of 36 points in a week of fluctuating fortunes for the teams.

Paradise Brand, the first to score back-to-back Team of the Week victories in the tournament, compiled 33 points in a tie with Lucky Strike and Boleros but failed to prevent being bumped off at second place in the team standings by Alliance.

Lance & 3rdy at 29 was a point shy of the 30 points mark, Sky Freight Forwarders pooled 26 points, the previos week honoree D’ Barkads had 10 and Hidada made 19 points.

MJ Bowlers, GM Pin Pals and Taurus RDLR filled the last three spots at 17, 14 and 4 points.

Michelle Mata completed an Alliance double after she won the ladies Bowler of the Week award at 677, while Rene Punzalan of Boleros was the men’s division winner of the award at 685. Both will receive a gift pack from the Bowler of the Week sponsor Paradise Brand through Letty Malinao.

Not one team dominated the proceedings and though different teams had won each of the three games and overall output Alliance, which had the highest total pinfalls, pulled through because it was more consistent than the others with a chance to become Team of the Week.

Ester Jalata and Ed Cordova fired 596 and 595 to support Michelle at Alliance, while Bonnie Garcia was the other player to go the distance at 542.

Palo Allego added 186-166 and veteran Cris Villavelez 208 for Alliance.

Game 3 winner Paradise Brand had the duo of Marie Gumpal and Rey Beltran at the helm on 602 and 573 with Lourdes Punzalan on 526. With two games each were team captain Igna Salgado 214-189, Fahd Al Romai 170-190 and Majid Aslani 215-216.

Four players did full games at Lucky Strike with Archie Santos showing the way at 595 followed by Rudy Valenzuela 578, Matet Cavite 571 and Nurissa Ramos 559. Ruben Grino submitted 192-182 and Danny Bautista had 179 while sharing the remaining three games between them.

Along with Punzalan Zaldy Bacero and Jeanette Cerbito bowled big for first game winner Boleros on 620 and 550 respectively to go with the 502 by Luz Pagaran, 222-165 by Pancho Cuevas and164 by Cesar Monares.

On a day when getting 600 was a struggle Sky Feight’s Rene Santiago and Jeff San Pedro of GM Pin Pals were among the few to make it at 610 and 605.
