The Non-Rated Division semifinal cast was completed after Arabian Homes crushed Uni Décor 107-80 at the weekend in the Filsama Basketbal League 7th Conference at the NAI Juffali Compound court in Bawadi District here.

As usual, the triumvirate of Gino Cilot, Destreza and Fuentes carried the game for Arabian Homes. Cilot and Destreza scored 24 and 23 points respectively, while Malda made 21.

Arabian Homes thus joins Al Tazaj and Maarej Airnet in the round of four along with Friendster, which was the first to qualify last week after beating Old Airport Islamic team 106-83.

Tazaj made it following a 91-75 triumph over Cotabato in the knockout semifinal game last Thursday thanks mainly to 23 and 22 points from Bautista and Glen Manalili and 14 from Magat. Maarej of Emil Bautista followed suit with an 83-75 victory over Maya International.

Maya was in control in the first half leading by as many as 14 points only and started the third quarter still up by five only to collapse after the first five minutes of the fourth quarter when Alturas hit eight unanswered points to bail Maarej out of the woods.

The ninth week of the tournament also saw E. A. Juffali & Bros. guarantee itself of one of two Inter-Company Bona fide final berths by beating Jimmy Abullah Beltran’s Toyota Aurion 88-78.

Grisson scored 20 points, de la Paz added 18 and Dones 15 as Juffali asserted itself toward the end of the game to improve its leading record to 5-1 in the team standings.

Fuddruckers S@H kept alive its slim final hopes in the same division by whipping a Makati Foods squad that played without it prized center and legitimate point guard. The scoreline was 99-75.

Nanding Unas led Herman Cara’s Fuddruckers with 41 points while Adrian Bulacan added 16.

In the centerpiece Open Rated Division, upset-conscious Wasalak, which beat powerhouse Shadow Lounge 101-98 the previous week, had hoped for lightning to strike twice in the game against another top team Friendster.

But Friendster of Cris Melebo put its foot down in the decisive 103-90 victory in the nightcap Friday.

Christian Guimpatan and James Smith struck hardest with 34 and 26 points as Friendster picked up its third win in four games in the double round robin series where the top two teams clash in a best-of-three for the title.

Ismael shot 23 points and Faico Radiamoda added 15 to be at the helm of Wasalakak’s losing cause.
