JEDDAH: Balubai Group Cricket registered a thrilling two-wicket win over Islamic Development Bank in the first Intra Organization best of three series cricket tournament, organized jointly BGC-IDB at the bank’s Greenlawns premises ground recently.

In the first match of the series, IDB won the toss and decided to field first. BGC-XI put up a total of 97 runs from the stipulated 20 overs. Mursalin (14), Farman (12) Shajee (10), Mohammed Irshad (9) and Ahmed Ali (8) were the run getters. Shaharyar Javaid bagged 3 wickets while Mudassir Khan got 2.

In reply, IDB-XI fell short and scored 83 runs. Mudassir Khan was the highest scorer with 21 runs followed by Mirza Irfan 14 and Shaharyar Javaid 11. Mursalin impressed with his bowling and got 3 wickets. Faisan got 2.

Nayeem Khaleequr Rahman, treasury manager of Balubaid Group, inaugurated the tourney in coordination with Syed Asim Raza, Syed Saleem Quadri, Syed M.Javaid, Syed Abdallah Shah and Mohammed Yousufuddin of IDB.
