Jay Bengco and Carmen Lim led the set of winners during the OFBC (Overseas Filipino Bowlers Club) monthly tournament for February held recently at the Serafi Mall’s IN-10-SO lanes here.

Bengco, a Class C bowler who finished sixth during the four-game qualifying round, rolled 403 pinfalls in the final played over two games to emerge Bowler of the Month on the men’s division.

Bengco won by a comfortable margin of 22 pins over Class D Vic Gonzales, who settled for first runner-up on 381. Conrad Baltazar and Robert Arman Gamboa, both Class D players like Gonzales, were second runner-up and third runner-up on 377 and 376 respectively with Class A Ding Dela Rosa rounding out the first five winners on 366.

Class D Lim also had little trouble winning the Bowler of the Month title on the distaff side, shooting 388 to the 376 by first runner-up Class B campaigner Lourdes Punzalan.

The Class B duo of Malou Nidoy and Minda Guevarra tied for the second runner-up position on 333.

Bengco and Lim both received free change oil and filter certificate courtesy of Petromin through Jerry “Ka Imo” Carredo in addition to cash prize. The rest of the winners each received cash prize.

Gonzales and Guevarra won separate cash prizes for topping the qualifying round on 792 and 708.

Bengco and Lim join January winners Tom Langa and Mia Cedotes in the Bowler of the Month honor roll in which the qualifiers will fight it out in the year-ending Bowler of the Year Championship.

A guaranteed prize of two brand new laptop awaits the grand champions, according to OFBC Chairman Joel Nidoy.
