The Dirab Ladies Group held its first tournament of 2014 on Wednesday. Leading the winners in the Marriott Ladies Golf Tournament at Dirab Golf & Country Club were South African Madele Burger and Martina O. Reilly.

Burger was the overall Best Net champion, shooting 72 from a gross score of 92 and 20 handicap, while Reilly won overall Best Gross honors on 88. Highlighting Burger’s round was a birdie on the second hole.

Meg Fordham and Susan Tessier emerged champion and runner-up in the Alpha Group on 72 and 79 respectively.

Roberta Hobbs and Roselyne Delpon De Vaux topped the Beta Group on 87 and 93 while Chris Buchner and Wendy McLaughlin were the first two winners in Omega Group with scores of 77 and 79.

Sile McIlroy captured the longest drive award with Fordham claiming the nearest to the pin plum.

Dirab Ladies captain Denize Holding distributed prizes to the winners. She was assisted by representatives from sponsor Marriott Riyadh Hotel GM Muin Serhan and Adel Eldahshoury.

The next event of the group is the Stableford format competion next week, according to Holding.

Meantime, the second CCOR Canadian Open Golf Tournament took place on Friday. This two-day four-ball Texas Scramble format event is organized by the Canadian Community of Riyadh.
