The Overseas Filipino Basketball League (OFBL) has partnered with Citymax, the leading value fashion band in the Kingdom, as it looks to another banner season after its last tournament in 2013 attracted a record 63 teams.

Citymax confirmed its sponsorship of the league’s Morning Division 5th Conference which opened last Friday with 23 teams in the fold. The Morning Division has grown by leaps and bounds to the point it had to turn away teams to be able to finish within the allotted schedule, according to OFBL Commissioner Rocky Gil.

This is the first time Citymax has come in as a co-sponsor although it has supported OFBL by fielding teams under the Citymax and Centrepoint brands.

“I will promise that more events will come not only for this,” said Jason Coan, Citymax retail head western region, during the signing of the sponsorship contract with the OFBL represented by Gil, who was accompanied by BRG (Basketball Referees Group) Chairman Lito Dela Cruz.

Also present during the signing of the agreement were Syed Shafi, retail operations manager, Joseph Rex, area manager, and Aldeshir, area VM head and coach of CityMax team in the Evening Division.

Coan expessed his appreciation of OFBL being able to provide platform for its employees to build camaraderie among them.

The Morning Division is divided into three groups namely Group A, the strong division with 7 teams, Group B (8 teams) and Group C (8 teams).
