SYDNEY: Australia cricket captain Michael Clarke says back and hamstring injuries which forced him out of the final test in India are unlikely to keep him out of the Ashes tour.

Clarke said on his arrival back in Australia on Sunday that he will consider medical advice before making a decision about playing in the Indian Premier League.

It was the first time in his 92-test career over eight years that injury forced him out of the team. He will undergo scans to determine the extent of his ailments.

Clarke is due to start a six-week IPL stint with Pune Warriors in April before traveling to England for the Champions Trophy and the Ashes.
