Courtyard Marriott got its first victory in three games against Four Points By Sheraton Riyadh Khalidia 66-30 then followed this with a 71-56 rout of Four Seasons to even its card at 2-2 in the 20th Basketball Fever in Riyadh 2013 at Sheraton Riyadh Hotel & Towers rubberized basketball court.

This 2-in-1 league features the 3rd Kudu Challenge Cup for Inter-Company Non-Rated and the 26th Annual Riyadh Inter-Hotels Basketball Tournament 2013.

The presence of top management of Courtyard Marriott headed by GM Farhan Cone, F & B Director Nabil Khamaiseh, Director of Services Omar Tubishat was a great morale boaster for the team anchored by Van Carlo Tiolengco with support from Leonardo Esguerra, Leonides Mercedes, Charles Suitos, Nash Magrato and Erwin Naguit.

The badly beaten Four Points was without its ace player Alvin Aquino.

Even with Aquino in the lineup Four Points in its second game of the week fell prey to the hot Sheraton Riyadh which matched Courtyard’s double to run its record to 5-0 by also beating Riyadh InterContinental 93-76 in a tense encounter earlier in the week. The scoreline against Four Points was 97-56

InterCon took the first quarter 22-17 and in the resumption of the second quarter, Sheraton’s Marvin delos Reyes, who is in top form, launched four straight 3-point shots that changed the complexion of the game.

Delos Reyes finished with a game-high 31 points including 9 threes while Ziyad Soro contributed 15 points and Jhuk Campo and Joseph Abad 13 points each.

Ritz Carlton bounced back from defeat at the hands of InterContinental by defeating Riyadh Marriott in a low-scoring ball game 65-36.

Clarkton Browly and Chowking Yee anchored Ritz Carlton contributing 17 and 14 points each assisted by Japee Tulao, Romel Jaconob, Joselito dela Paz, Marvin Gabao, Jeremy Guarin and Edmond Mendoza.

Monday matches saw Al Faisaliah Hotel boys stop IntercContinental 78-66. InterCon led by Jaylord Apas dressed only eight players for the match against a full strength Al Faisaliah side led by Archie Zabala with support from Marvin Casubuan, Nino Salvador, Nino Lauriaga and Abel Coral.

Western Union Enjaz showed its prowess by beating Nesma 82-80 in the 3rd Kudu Challenge Cup for Inter-Company Non-Rated.

It was a split for Western after it dropped an 86-80 decision against Kudu of Orly Casimero.
