Crown Steel scraped home against Asian Advance Plastic Factory, winning by one wicket on the last ball while My Care Hala easily beat Dopco Stars as they qualified for the the final in the Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA) Summer Premier tournament here.

Batting first, My Care lost wickets at regular intervals but Kashif Shafeeq with determination and concentration continued his innings putting on multiple partnerships forts with Waheed Nisar, who made 32, Waqas Ausaf 21, Rahat Ali 16 as later Khurram Karamat hammered 47 in 19 balls with the help of 6 fours and 3 sixes.

Shafeeq scored a fabulous 89 off 50 balls studded with 10 fours and 2 sixes to take the My Care tally to 217 for 5 in allotted 20 overs.

For Dopco Stars Adnan took 2-35 and Shahbaz, Ajmal Khan and Asim each took a wicket. Dopco Stars chasing had disastrous start with both Shoaib Ali and Usman Ali claimed on the first two balls of the innings by Hussain Bhatti to make Dopco Stars tottering at 2 down for no score.

Nadeem who made 24 and skipper Shahbaz who stroked 39 off 25 tried to repair the damage but the task was too big. Ajmal Khan (24) and Asim (26) were the other contributors to take the tally to 167 all out and Dopco lost by 50 runs. Hussain Bhatti who started the downfall of Dopco took 3-39, Mohammed Tayyab 2-14 and Waheed 2-23 as Waqas claimed the rest.

Asian Plastic Factory, which chose to bat first against mighty Crown Steel, had a very sound start with both skipper Nadeem Amin on 29 and Imran Ghani, who top-scored with 70 off 39 balls, added 94 in 9 overs.

But once the skipper was dismissed they started to lose wickets at regular intervals to be stranded at 181 for 7 in 120 balls with only Nadeem making 28. Abuhuraira took 2-36 while Aijaz and Zubaid took a wicket each. Also, there were 3 run outs.

Crown Steel chasing lost three early wickets but Abid Naseem, a consistent performer with the bat, found ally in Babar Hussain who gave some stability to the score.

Abid Naseem made 45 in 28 and Babar Hussain 43 off 31 balls. While when they required 37 runs in the last 18 balls Abuhuraira plundered 24 runs in 11 deliveries to win on the last ball of the match to get to 183 for 9.

The final between Crown Steel and My Care Hala is set for today.
