D’ Cyclone made sure it has a Team of the Week award to its name after it pooled the highest total of 24 points in a low-scoring 15th week in the OFBC Friday Morning League Season 1 at the Ice Land Bowling Center.

Next to last in the team standings D’ Cyclone shut out Flexibowl 20-0 and though its total pinfalls of 2,752 was good for only 4 rank points it proved enough for team honors.

To complete a day of the underdogs Pairs and Spares stunned league leader Fed X ally 12-8 on total pinfalls of 2,871-2,855, rank points of 10-9 and total win points of 22-17.

Mixed Shots had the session’s third-best tally of 20 points following its 12-8 victory over Jandel’s Pride on total pinfalls of 2,321-2,392 and rank points of 8-6.

Lance & 3rdy, in third place in the team standings, and D’ Luf’s Strikers ended the day tied on 19 points.

Lance brought down D’ Mountaineers 12-8 (2,821-2,805 7-5) while Luf’s emerged 16-4 winner over bottom team Nomac on total pinfalls of 2,660-2,545 and rank points of 3-2.

Cyclone’s Team of the Week victory left only four teams still without an award namely Jandel’s Pride, Luf’s, Pairs and Nomac. Their chances don’t look good at all with only three weeks to play in the doble round robin eliminations.

Cesar Pagtalunan and Fedelyn Bustinera somehow soothed the battered pride of

losing teams Flexibowl and Fed X Ally when they clinched the men’s and ladies Bowler of the Week awards on 613 and 632 respectively.

It was the fourth award and the most of any player for Fedelyn, and the second for Pagtalunan.

Arman Gamboa was at the helm of the Cyclone charge on 578 followed by Tom Langa 554, skipper Fatima Jintarat 553 and Bash Langa. Aisah Silabay made 149-155 and Danny Bautista had 159.

Pairs also had four players with complete games — Richard San Victores carded 592 to go with the 571 by Conrad Baltazar, 569 by Jeff San Pedro and 539 by Akang Victorino. Joey Calapatia added 174-166 and Jun Estefano 204.

For Mixed Shots the Lim family took center stage with daughter Carms on 577, father Toto on 567 and mother Vangie on 554. Skipper Jerry “Ka Imo” Carredo contributed 167-196 andd Jerry Valenzuela 148.
