Falcon came within a point shy of the perfect 40 score on the way to its third Team of the Week award during the 10th session in the FTBJ-ICBL Novarino Inter-Company Bowling League 32nd Conference at Jeddah Lanes here.

Falcon would have been the first 40 points scorer had Sarawat-Alanson not interfered in the first game. Instead, Falcon had to settle for 39 with Alanson six points adrift on 33.

Host team Jeddah Lanes finished third on the day with 28 points followed by Cristal Global 24, Hidada Ltd. 23 and JM Derby and Sky Freight-TFC, which tied on 19 points.

D’ Barkads, Lance & 3rdy and Jem Strikers occupied the last three places on 16, 11 and 8 points in that order.

Danny Bautista doubled the joy for the soaring Falcon after he captured the men’s Bowler of the Week award by shooting the high series of 724 on lines of 233, 256 and 235. On the ladies side, Len-Len Berina of Cristal Global was the Bowler of the Week at 652 (202, 166 and 179).

Matet Cavite shot 641 in support of Bautista, while pouring in two games each were Nonie Yap 263-247, Rico Nery 196-161 and Ed Labuac 177-158.

It’s early days but Alanson and Cristal seemed headed for another head-to-head for supremacy in a reprise of the last conference where their bowlers played for two different teams.

After losing the lead for two weeks to Cristal Alanson was back in the saddle thanks to strong games from Igna Salgado 647 and Paul Antiporda 608. The ladies pair of Jeanette Cerbito and Marie Gumpal added 547 and 520 while Majid Aslani and Paolo Allego had valuable contributions of 212-211 and 244.

Veteran Cris Villavelez led Jeddah Lanes on 637 with Sharmaine Patayan on 599 and Thess Marasigan on 539. With two games each are Raul Delos Reyes 181-208, Ladio Gonzales 180-189 and Sammy Ocampo 181-196.

Berina’s award-winning display, 617 from Zaldy Bacero, 558 from Bonie Garcia and 543 from Merlen Pamintuan seemed not enough for Cristal to keep the top spot.

At Hidada Nanding Siasoco had 554 to go with the 553 by Grace Siasoco, 525 by Pinky Acato, 246-235 from Amro Al-Amri, 187-191 from Rene Martinez and 179-164 from Romy Bunagan.
