RIYADH: Favorites had a field day during the third week of the MoneyGram Cricket Ke Badshah Twenty20 Cup, played under the auspices of Saudi Cricket Center and organized by the Riyadh Cricket League at the RCL Complex here.

Super, National, Cricket Samarwa, National, Ever Green, Royal Fighters, Game Pro, Pakhtoon Khawa, Mehran and NAB had it easy. Highlights of the day was impressive bowling by

Babar Mirza. Sajjiuddin, Assad Butt and Hashim dazzled with the bat,besides fine all-round performances by Tassadaq, Qaiser, Adil Mustafa and Rana Munir.Al-Fateh Club put up a total of 164 runs against Super in their allotted overs. Sajjiuddin was in top form and scored 90 runs. However, his colleague failed to give him the required support and caved in tamely. Babar Mirza wrecked the rival batting line-up and took 5 wickets while Waleed and Shafiq chipped in with 2 each.

Super achieved their target after 16.1 overs. Babar Mirza and Adanan Nasir gave their team a brisk 35-run start. Later, Waleed (37), Shafeeq (39) and Khawar (26) finished off the match. Waqas took 2 wickets. Super won by 6 wickets.

In another match, Cricketers put up 137 runs against Samarwa. Ahmar and Mansoor scored 41 and 24 runs respectively. Tassadaq bowled well and took 4 wickets. In reply Samarwa reached their target after 14 overs and won the match by 5 wickets. Amir (49) and Ahsan (32) were the main run-getters. Salman claimed 2 wickets.

Elsewhere, National got the better of Flynas Avengers by 42 runs. National batted first and set Flynas a target of 204 runs. Javed was in good form and made 58 runs supported by Yasir (33) and Sadat (24). Usman claimed 4 wickets, Akram got 2. In reply Flynas Avengers managed 161 runs. Saqib (24), Zafar (20) and Usman (24) were among the runs. Ashraf bagged 3 wickets while Azeem had 2.

Man-of-the-Match: Javed.




Ever Green scored 169 runs against Gujranwala. Khawar (39) and Adil Mustafa (37) were the main scorers. Usman and Kamran shared 4 wickets. In reply Gujranwala were bowled out for 110 runs. Afzal was the highest scorer with 20 runs. Mudassar and Arslan took 2 wickets each.

Royal Fighters eased past Riyadh Blues by 5 wickets. Riyadh Blues put on board 193 runs, thanks to a solid 102-run partnership by openers. Sufiyan (50) and Shakeel (52). Himayath and Javed made 22 runs each. Qaiser, Asif and Madani took 2 wickets each.

In reply Royal Fighters achieved the target in 17.3 overs. Qaiser (47), and Madani K (29) Saad (43) and Ammen (30) were instrumental in their team’s victory.

In the other matches, Game Pro defeated Konkan Green by 5 wickets, Pakhtoon Khawa routed RP by 56 runs, Mehran hand no problem when they beat Mughal by 55 runs while NAB ousted Kashmir Press by 80 runs.

Mehran 209: (Assad Butt 67, Fahim Shah 51; Sajjad Shah 3 wkts) beat Mughal 154: (Imran 56; Ayyaz & Alam 2 wkts) by 55 runs.
