JEDDAH: It was a super Friday as all the evening matches were full of action and suspense, coming down to the last few seconds to produce the winners.

Fitaihi defeated Woodroc 104-95 in double overtime, Schindler defeated Unicorp 69-55 and Citymax edged N.R.F.81-80 in the OFBL 5th Conference Inter-Company Bonafide C Division at Timeout Sports Academy gymnasium, on Television Street, Ghulail District on the outskirts of Jeddah.

Fitaihi had an astonishing performance. They battled back from 10 points down in the first extra session and by 6 points in the second overtime.

The trio of Calipay, Gabino and Banaag presided the gutsy stand, especially in the dying seconds, by Fitaihi, scoring 22, 19 and 13 points respectively. Bolo and Briones led Woodroc with 18 and 15 points.

The match was see-saw battle with both sides having runs of their own to take the upper hand in any stage of the game.

Fitaihi squandered an 8-point lead going into the final quarter, as Woodroc launched a 10-0 run to take the upper hand early in the 4th period and second overtime.

But Fitahi sliced Woodroc’s lead bit by bit and finally regained the lead with 2 minutes to go, which it further increased to 5 points and to a 6-point cushion going into the last 2 minutes.

But a top team such as Woodroc won’t simply give up the fight. It used the press, tightened the defense and challenged Fitaihi’s free-throw accuracy in exchange for 2 quick 2 points to close the gap.

In the Bracket C, Citymax also had to endure the last seconds uprising of N.R.F. to preserve the precious 1-point victory.

In a seemingly high-scoring tight match, neither team led by no more than 5 points from the second period.

N.R.F. was protecting 5-point lead coming to the last 2 minutes but was stunned by Citymax late run that tied the ballgame at 78.

Citimax attacked straight to the basket but was fouled with 3 seconds left. It missed the first free-throw but netted the second to give Citymax a 1-point edge, enough to snatch the game from N.R.F, which failed to score in the last few seconds.

Eusebio scored 30 points for Citymax and effectively combined with Salazar who had a game-high 17 Assists and scored 15 points. Tondo had 12 points and |Denifilix 11.

Jeddah Falcon hammered out a 79-71 victory against Almarai.

Meanwhile, in the Inter-Company Non-Rated, Rizal Chemical proved too strong for Jameel Renewed, as it overpowered the latter by 91-72.

It was a high-scoring game as both teams displayed their shooting skills, but Riza Chemical just got the better firepower, dominating Jameel Renewed throughout the game.

Sadafco triumphed over Triple M. 80-61 in the Inter Company Non-Rated A Division.

In Inter-Company Bonafide B, Rabya won its second straight game, 86-74 against Al Yanabie.
