Fuchs One Stop Shop of Gerry Refill and Jovy Abella beat Barangay Fame 89-75 to claim one seat in the Group A championship of the JBL baskestball tournament at Bin Mahfouz court here.

Fuchs dominated the shaded area in the final quarter as Barangay Fame started to lose steam and miss important baskets. Baual top-scored with 22 points for Fuchs One Stop Shop and was adjudged as the Giordano best player of the game while Garcia scored 23 points for Barangay Fame.

Team Pilipinas of Ermie Samson defeated Al Mostaqbal Hospital 58-53. Both teams played well up to third quarter. Team Pilipinas went to the open man in offense while Al Mostaqbal committed some crucial turnovers in the dying seconds. Jed led Team Pilipinas with 17 points and was adjudged as the Arab News best player of the game while Callueng had 14 points for Al Mostaqbal.

Java Tithe of Ricardo Selga beat Danya Foods 90-88 to grab the second seat of the Group A best of 3 title series opposite Fuchs. Java Tithe never lost composure in the whole game as Danya Foods managed to control the driver seat up to the crucial minutes of the game. Java Tithe applied tight defense to defuse the last offensive play of Danya. Bussel Jr. scored 24 points for Java Tithe and was adjudged as the JBL best player of the game while Garcia top-scored with 25 points for Danya Foods.

Thursday, Solid North of MJ Ramos and Pablo Viscayno defeated Sadia 74-64. Solid North played their offense well in the final quarter. Sadia tried hard to get back to the game but committed back-to-back turnovers. Pablo Viscayno had 30 points for Solid North and was adjudged as the JBL best player of the game while De Castro and Cruz scored 19 points apiece for Sadia.

Awdah of Rhey Magat outplayed Mr. Foodstuff 80-73 in the final quarter. Awdah’s solid running game was unstoppable in the crucial minutes of the game. Mr. Foodstuff missed the services of their top gunner Jojo Castillo who did not show up for this crucial game. Cormanes top-scored with 14 points for Awdah and was adjudged as the JBL best player of the game while Soriano had 26 points for Mr. Foodstuff.
