GMA Pinoy TV did an encore as Team of the Week, the first to have won the award in consecutive weeks after another splendid display during the 6th session in the FTBJ-ICBL 33rd Conference bowling tournament at Jeddah Lanes here.

GMA bucked a slow start to finish on top at the end of a spirited chase for points at 40.

Four points adrift was Lucky Strike at 36 followed by Hidada Ltd. 31 and Boleros 30. MJ Bowlers failed to cross 30 points and settled at 26.5 with Alliance n Motion on 24. Sky Freight Fowarders 19.5 and Lance & 3rdy 19. D’ Barkads and Taurus RDLR tied on 13 points and GM Pin Pals brought up the rear on 12.

Lourdes Punzalan actually made it a GMA Pinoy double when she collared the ladies Bowler of the Week award on 618 on scratch games of 170, 147 and 193.

In fourth place with 8 points after the first game, GMA accelerated to go first-second-first in the last two games and overall output.

Majid Aslani, Rey Beltran and Marie Gumpal also rolled solid rounds for GMA at 619, 611 and 601, while Paul Antiporda added 159-181 and Igna Salgado 213.

To Lucky Strike went the men’s Bowler of the Week plum courtesy of Rudy Valenzuela who fired the high series of 632 on lines of 205, 171 and 244.

In addition to Valenzuela the others that helped advance the Lucky Strike cause were Nurissa Ramos 579, Matet Cavite 578, Archie Santos 576 and Danny Bautista 574.

Over at Hidada Saleh Fayez and Pinky Acato headed a quartet that completed three games on 605 and 603, while Grace Siasoco and Nanding Siasoco added 563 and 538 respectively. Rounding out the scoring were Amro Al Amri 186-200 and Jun Palacios 186.

Like Luck Strike league leading Boleros picked a single set of five players for their team score with Zaldy Bacero on 626, Cesar Monares 601, Jeanette Cerbito 577, Rene Punzalan 565 and Gail Mata 486.
