JEDDAH: The second hard tennis ball cricket tournament for the Jeddah Champions Trophy, organized by Azizia Deccan, will take off on Jan. 24 at the Sulemania grounds, here.

After the successful insertion of the inaugural season of JCT into the cricketing fraternity of the Kingdom, JCT committee is planning to increase the number of participating teams from 8 to 16 this season to make sure that here will be much more competition and enough chances for the participating teams to lay hands on the prestigious trophy. The tournament is will be sponsored by Ford-Al-Jazeera Vehicles.

Team registrations have already started, and out of the 20 teams that have enrolled, the participating 16 teams will finalized before the end of this week.

During a recent meeting held to finalize the tournament schedule, Ali Mohammed Khan, the chairman of JCT committee said, “We are looking forward to organize this tournament in the true spirit of the game, and expect all participating teams to cooperate in making this journey a memorable one. The guys are putting in a lot of effort, and we hope to take this tournament to a new level and make it a benchmark for other such tournaments to be held in the future.”
