Host Saudi Arabia romped off with the overall title in the Prince Open International Karate Championship for Prince Faisal bin Salman Cup at the Muhammad bin Abdul Aziz Sports City here.

The Saudis ended the four-day competition with four gold, two silver and two bronze medals.

The trophies and medals were handed out during the awards ceremony on Wednesday graced by Sulaman Al-Juraish, undersecretary at Madinah Governor’s Office who represented Madinah Gov. Prince Faisal bin Salman.

In the individual kata final, Egyptian player Saif Karam won against Saudi Arabia's Abdullah Al-Harbi.

In the individual open weight category final, Jordan's Muhammad Al-Rifi emerged winner against Saudi Muhammad Al-Amri.

Saudi Arabia won the team event against Jordan.

The tournament attracted teams from Arab and Muslim countries.
